I received a letter from Sky confirming my request to terminate my sky subscription on the 11th Oct' 02.

However, upon checking this morning both the sky sub and sky+ sub were active???

You'll probably also find the DD mandate is still active too:devil:

From http://www.freetoview.co.uk/ : -

Set top boxes for Free-to-view Digital TV via satellite are available for purchase through some retailers. An additional charge will be made for 'minidish' installation. In order to watch Free-to-view Digital Satellite TV, a viewing card will be supplied to you free by calling 08702 438 000 (this service is provided by the BBC, C4 and C5).

(sorry if I'm telling you how to suck eggs!)

i believe its £220 for a new digibox from sky, they do it for this price if you already have sky, im sure how much it is for a fresh free-to-view installation, im not sure if they will do it...

Did my thread get deleted or did I just dream I posted here?

DaveP,
I have to say that I don't recall reading your opinion on this topic

Oh well I'll type it all again!

I'm hoping that Pyara will keep us posted on this because I am in dispute with sky at the moment and it could quite easily end in my cancelling my subscription for Sky+ and the mirror sub. A total of £59 per month.

It would be nice to get something for nothing but I'm particularly interested to know what happens to the Sky+ box. I may still pay the £10 if I can still use it as a FTV recorder!

My Sky contract specifies that they want 1 months notice of cancellation as long as any initial 12 months contract has expired. It may be that they will charge you up to the 10th November?

Why not think for a little while, what else you can do with £59 per month, you will easily get over not having Sky anymore. Should take about 3ns to start coming up with options :D
