A couple of guys already know this, but I thought I'd start a new thread for everybody...

I've just ordered sky+ this morning for £99 plus £1 installation...it is going to be installed this Saturday...result! I'm also an existing customer with a standard sky box.

I phoned 0870 2423256 and quoted ref number USKPBTAA...and had no problems. Existing box will be left with me, as I own it, and didn't want installation in another room. That would have been free, with only an extra £10 subs fee.

If you want one get in quick...they have about 1500 refurbed ex-demo units to get rid of. Full 12 month warranty and upgraded to current spec. Not many left I understand!!

    Cheers,

    CliveG

    Thanks for the info cliveg,

But, could you please confirm they will not ask for
information on how the person qualifies for the
reduced price ?? and what can you say if they do
    question it.

I tried to order sky+ over the web a few days
ago but was put off by a suggested install date
    of 11th Jan.

By the way for info, I went through the web
tonight to see if you could enter a voucher
code (no luck) :( but for anyone in the manchester
area it appears they have suddenly got install
    dates from this weekend :smashin:

    Hiya,

No, they didn't ask any questions except the usual...name, address etc. I just quoted the code reference, gave credit card details at the end, and that was it...installation on Saturday!

Couple of guys on this forum have already done it.

    Hope this helps,

    CliveG

Will sky plus be £5 p/m in the future. Also when does this offer end. What about cables? Does another cable have to be drilled down?

Phoned this morning, installing next Tuesday. Result!!. Just quoted the ref.number, no probs at all. Took payment straight away (£99 plus £1 install!!) and as I already have the full package, confirmed that I'll not be paying the £10pm sky+ normal charge.

Many thanks to the original poster.

I mailed my friend about this, a while ago.

Aside from the rep asking seven times  :rotfl: where the code came from, everything appeared to be going okay and it looked like the order was complete. He's just mailed me to say that they won't process the order until he has an answer.

    Any pointers, guys?

I am sure that REF number should only apply to employees and friends, I may be wrong though!!:suicide:

You've still had no luck then?

If another Sky+ thread is anything to go by, perhaps the staff simply 'freeforming'. It looks like there's too many offers to keep track of! On-line, phone-only, phone-a-friend, find-a-friend, by-my-friend...

Worked for me with the exact same code. Only question I was asked was where in Sky my "mate" worked, I said the engineering/tech dept but that I only really knew the guy on the net so to speak

It was all fine as far as she was concerned, TBH, I think the only reason I got questioned at all was that the system was taking so long to process.

Got an install date of January (guess everyone is getting installs over the x-mas period in Scotland ;) )

The code is one that's been sent out to Sky staff (got an offline copy via another mate who used to work there that has mates still employed there :D ) so it's not like the code is different for different members of staff, etc.

I've just had an update from my friend and he's done pretty much the same thing.

I think I'll place him in the 'Guilty but happy' pile!

Installation is the latter half of January for him. Ah, it's good that I can only afford Freeview.

    Well, when I say 'afford'...

Another successful order here, only problems
were they can't install untill late january and as
I am having my existing box moved they charged me
another £10. so, £110 all told, still saves £90.

The guy I spoke to didn't ask me about the code,
although he did comment on the number of offers
available making it hard to keep track. :smashin:

Also, he was unable to tell me if it will be a ver 1 or 2
box. But, it will be updated to the latest operating system.

Would Cliveg etc.. mind letting the group know which version
    they install.

    Merry Xmas

    Ian

Version 1 is black/silver. Version 2 is an off white/light grey colour.

The installer does his job and is totally let down by whatever department is paid to test, repair and distribute recon boxes.
    Unbelieveable:(

I've just used the USKPBTAA offer number. The very pleasant operator asked me "Oh is that the BT offer?" to which I replied "Yes" She then took all my details and set an install date of 21/01/04.

This is 1 of the best finds on this forum yet. Top class.

Thanks to the original poster as I have gone for this also. Phoned Sky on the 18th and Sky+ is being installed today between 2 and 5. Not holding my breath though as my existing dish is about 30 feet up attached to my chimney. With all the snow that we've had up our way, I wouldn't be surprised if the engineer gave it a miss today. I didn't expect it to be installed this quickly, so if I have to reschedule, an extra week or two won't make any difference as I still have Sky D.

Sky is being installed between 4pm and 7pm here, sky dish is around 35 metres away from the box, and its in a converted attic room! Doubt he'll have much fun....
