Does anyone know if the internal cooling fan in the Sky+ box is controlled by temperture of the box? I ask this because my fan is not running but I have removed the fan and tested it OK on a 12v supply. My box is getting hot and I'm hoping the box is not faulty (it's 18 months old now) :( The Hard disk is also getting noisy and I dont want the bother of upgrading / changing the disk if the box is faulty.

Yep the fan inside a SKY+ is temp controlled, not sure at what temp it kicks in though but the unit is rated upto an operating temp of 40 degrees.
