How often does this happen to others on here.
For some reason the recording fails and will only delete not play. It happens quite frequently i find -

 annoying - recorded waking the dead BBc1 sunday - ok

recorded the 2nd part monday night on bbc1.

was watching top gear off the hard drive at this time when sky+ switches off on it's own.

waking the dead now appears as a failed recording

Sky + is excellent it's just these glitches, mostly on the BBc that pi** me off

Surely Sky may look into this if enough expeience these failed recordings

Touch wood I've not had any problems so far with failed recordings (apart from series links not working due to EPG not being correct). I don't record much off the BBC to be honest, so I wonder if it's just a problem with that ? I do record Top Gear every time it's on BBC2 and they've all been OK. I have the Amstrad Sky+ box.

If you look at the program size bar at the top, you will probably find that the programs that are failed do not show as using any space on the drive.

If this is the case it means that the recordings are corrupted and you will not be able to recover them.

The best thing to do to try and stop it happening again is to do a software update (This may lose your recording, but probably not) and if this does not work you should do a full system reset (This WILL wipe all you recordings and series links).

    Hope this helps

This is a known problem with Sky+ and the BBC. Apparently the problem lies with the BBC and there's a blurb about it on their website. I have read it but can't remember all the comments etc. :thumbsdow
