I'm as confused as hell
I currently have Sky+ going into a Panasonic widescreen via RGB scart.
I want to get a DVD recorder, probably a Pioneer 420.
As I want to record at the best quality possible, I figured RGB out the Sky+ into RGB in on the 420 then RGB out from the 420 to the TV.
Apparently there might be issues with widescreen switching, i.e it might not carry on working.
I believe this is because Sky use a different signalling method to the normal standard that a eurobox DVD recorder will be made for.
Does anyone here have Sky+ and a DVD recorder (Pioneer ideally) and can comment on the widescreen switching both when the recorder is switched on, and in standby?
I'm led to believe standby is not a problem but that when the recorder is switched on and processing the input signal the switching signal doesn't get passed through or recorded meaning you have to manually set the TV aspect ratio?
Hope that makes sense, and thanks!
