I wonder if anyone can help me please....

I currently have a standard SKY box, which is SCART connected to my TV.
I am thinking of getting SKY+, and notice that these new boxes have digital out, so they can be connected to my AMP.

If I were to connect the SKY+ box to my amp using digital out, but leave main connection to TV via SCART, does this mean that I could listen to SKY+ via my amp with Dolby Digital sound (depending on signal being received of course!) AND - when required - leave my amp turned off, and just listen to Sky through my normal TV Speakers via the SCART connection?

If not, how could I acheive this?

As always, thanks in advance for any help.

Most kit that provides digital and analogue outputs usually have them work simultaneously for the very reasons you quote steve. My old Nokia 221 mediabox (freeview) output to both analog and optical at the same time and I just chose how I was going to listen to it. The Scientific Atlanta cable box Telewest uses has optical out too.
