I just had a call from SKY to tell me that as I had now had SKY for 12 months, my SKY equiptment was no longer automatically insured/warranted. They said that it would cost £6 per month for the insurance and gave me a list as long as your arm of reasons why I should get it (including the fact that it would cost £60 if I needed an engineer sent out).

Is this just another rip-off or worth getting?

    Thanks

First of all you could probably get the digibox insured by a thrid party much cheaper and while an engineer will be sent from SKY for £60 that will also include the cost of hardware replacements.
Granted they won't be new parts but they will work and get a 3 month warranty on them.
