How often should the cooling fan come on?? When I first got it, it stayed on all the time, now it doesn't come on at all.
    Is this normal??:(

Version 2 boxes run the fan all the time after they are installed, it then stops after a reboot and someone mentioned in another post that it would turn itself off after a certain number of days.
Normal operation is that the fan comes on when the internal temp is too high and shuts down when the temp has lowered.

My V2 box did exactly this. The Sky box is sitting on the DVD at the mo and the fan stays off all the time. However, if I play a DVD or CD and the DVD heats up, the Sky fan comes on. Turns itself off afterwards though so it's working perfectly.

IF the box is on it's own and well ventilated (as mine soon will be) the fan should not really come on at all.

Yep, the fan is temperature controlled.

My Sky+ box sits on top of my receiver & the fan spins up when the receiver's on.............moving it shortly.
