Hi just a quick question, if I was to take my card out of my sky box and put it in a friends just to watch the footie tomorrow, would this work? I have the full package and my friend has just a basic package?

No.

If "the footie" is on a premium channel (i.e. Sky Sports) - no. If it is on a non-premium channel - and I'm not sure whether ESPN is considered premium or not - yes.

And before Broadz says it - MOTD?

Take the sky box and card and your be fine.

The card is paired to your Sky box. You would have to call Sky and get it paired to the other STB for it to work. However they will likely be able to see at their end that your friends STB has an active subscription (i.e it's not a second box in a holiday home etc) and will refuse to do this. You would both have to get your cards re-paired afterwards anyway. As the OP mentioned, much easier just to take your STB and card and you will be fine.

Yes, that would do, but as you know Persistence Pays.:laugh:
