I have heard good things about the quality of capture using a Sky + box. I would like to replicate the same quality using a HCPC, anyone got ideas what's the best way to do this and what type of capture card to use.

You'll need some good big hard drives, and a good video capture card like a Hauppauge PVR350, or one of the Pinnacle boards.

Sky + advantage is that it has 2 tuners, so can record a different programme to the one you are watching, it also doesn't record the 'red dot' interactive icons, or any of the on screen navigation that you would get if you record the video output of the sky system.

    Good luck!
