I currently have a Sky+ multiroom subscription (1 sport + 1movie) + box is in the lounge old box in the conservatory. We got this for my farther in law who lived with us but unfortunatley has had to go in a nursing home. Is it possible to reduce my package and still keep the + box's recording facility as my wife uses it a lot.

Yes you can but you have to pay £10 per month per Sky+ box to enable the recording facility.

You could also drop the multiroom subscription saving £10 per month - it would still allow use of the second box as a Freesat box - to see what channels you would get on it merely remove the card from the box and flick through the channels and add back on to that list Channel4, Five, Five US, Five Life and Sky 3 which you will get with your expired subscription card (acts as a Freesat card at least until they change encryption and issue new cards) or see here

Hi,

If you get a freeviewsat card from sky will the sky+ function work on the box?

Thanks

No - not without the £10 per month subscription.
