Well I managed to cancel sky without too much hassle, (see earlier threads).
I had the family £19.50 package and when I rang to cancel they offered the premium service with movies, sport etc for 3 months for a total of £61.
Not bad I suppose as I would have been getting 3 months premium for effectively what I was paying before.
I declined their kind offer however as I do not think I will have time to make use of it.
I guess I will be a freesat viewer in 30 days with £240 to spend on something else and that sounds great to me!

Can't say I blame you, if you are not watching subscription telly enough to justify the cost (whatever that is) you are far better off keeping the cash and/or spending your entertainment pennies on something else:)

    Hi mate

in exactly the same situation as you were, only I was told I would need to purchase the Freesat card, compared to posts on here saying the standard Sky card will default to the freesat card after 30 days, did yours?

    cheers

Yes my card automatically defaulted to freesat when the 30 days was up, no need to get a new card or anything. As I understand it, Sky change the cards every couple of years and when they next do it they will send out new cards to all subscribers but us freesat people will have to buy one then.
    Untill then just enjoy!
