Sky cancellation info'

I pay Sky £47.86 per month for the full package of films and Sky Sport (Not including ESPN which I do not have).
I want to cancel the 'Film bit' and just keep the Sport.
1. Which movies Channels does the package cover?
2. How much of the £47.86 is for the films?
3. Is it better to write to Sky to cancel?

Thank you.

The Sky Movies Mix is all of the Sky Movie Channels - Sky Premier, Sky Movies 1, Sky Movies 2, Sky Movies Modern Greats, Sky Movies Action, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies SciFi & Horror, Sky Movies Drama, Sky Movies Indie, Sky Movies Classic, Sky Movies Family (think that's them all).

None of the Sky packages costs £47.86 - Sky World costs £48.50, five mixes costs £47.50, it's probably one of these two that you have.

Assuming it is Sky World that you have, dropping the Sky Movies mix will drop the price to £41. If you only have five mixes plus movies and sports, the price will drop to £40. So, either way, you will save £7.50 per month by dropping Sky Movies.

You can write or phone - what you can't do is downgrade online.

"movies and sports"?

btw: Does everyone think it's OK for them to charge more for sports than films?

The pricing of the premium channels when together is cheaper than the combined price if they were sold separately so downgrading from sports/movies to just sports doesn't mean the saving of the full price when adding movies to a MIX option.
The more you buy the "cheaper" it gets method of pricing:)

The price of movies when taken as add on to sports is one reason why I always considered them worth every penny, sports was a must and movies a no-brainer addition:)

you should also take into account that if you only watch the footie, then nearly every premiership game is on Sky Sports 1 and that is half the price of all the sport

So if you have 6 basic packs and Sports 1 then the cost will be £32
take off £1 if you drop one of the basic packs

If you want to keep the other half happy too, then you can have half sport and half movies

Although a lot of midweek Premiership games have been shown on Sky Sports 2 this season. Almost all weekend Premiership games are on Sky Sports 1 - but that doesn't account for all Premiership games shown by Sky.

Also, Sky Sports 1 might cost only half what Sky Sports costs - but Sky Sports is four channels, not two. So, pay the other half and get Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports 4.
