Sky + brought from retailer

    Hi,

    If i buy a sky + reciever from any retailer or web site will this work with my existing viewing card and can i install the box myself ? :lease:

    Yes, you will need a dual or quad LNB and a second cable from you dish to the box, or you could replace the exisitng cable with a twin feed cable. You would then have to ring Sky to get the box and card repaired and enable the Sky+ recording features.

    Dont forget it costs £10 pm for Sky+ of you dont have two premium channels in your current package.

    May not actually be that much cheaper than the current Sky multiroom offer in the long run, but at least you can choose what box you get.

    The LNB is the device on the end of the dish that picks up the signal and has the cable connected to it.
