Sky Broadband Wont connect!!!

I recently joined Sky Broadband after bugging my parents for a long time and was dissapointed when my new laptop could not even find the router. After trying what the instruction manual and it making little difference said i phoned Sky and they told me that there was a problem at the exchange, meaning that my router wasnt transmitting a wireless signal, and that there was nothing that they could do and that I would just have to wait, so i waited 2 weks and after still not having any lucki phoned them again and they said that the problem was fixed but it still didnt work (however i did learn after 20 minutes on the phone that the customer support team know nothing about computers), it works if the laptop is plugged directly into the router however when searching for the wireless connection it cant find it at all can anyone help me?

Access you router:

Its normally 192.168.0.1 then admin / sky and see what it report back what it states on the wireless side if its active or not? The light on the front so also tell you.

It does say that it is connected but it wont find the router at all which is confusing because it connects to other sky routers and any other routers i try it on

Have you tried the reverse ? Does the router find your pc ?

How do you find out if the router can find your pc?
