Hope this is the right place for this question. Sky are trying to get me to take up their line rental and on the face of it it looks good,a bit cheaper with some free add ons but what is the downside of bidding BT goodbye.

Lets put it this way I couldn,t have Sky broadband unless I had a BT line, who else is going to insist on a BT line. If I want to go back to BT what does that cost?

I don't understand what your trying to ask.

Do you have a BT line already or is it Virgin?

Sorry probably not very clear. I have a BT line and Sky broadband. The question was really I had to have a BT line in order to have Sky broadband if I now go to Sky for the line rental who else is going to insist on a BT line in the future should I get fed up with Sky?

Your Sky Talk line rental package will still be classed as a BT line by other ISPs iirc - who will probably try to get you to go with their offerings. Check the call charges for eg. 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871 if going with Sky Talk before making a decision.
