    Hi all, I am new to these Forums and just have a quick question, has anyone here seen the SKY Plasma tv offer?
    I have been offered a pretty good deal on one and wonderd about who makes it for SKY?

    The sky plasma is made by daewoo. hope this helps.

    LOL the picture posted shows amazing solarization, hopefully it's just the colour depth of the little jpg, not the plasma!

    Its not samsung its daewoo I have the model number type it in google and it will take you to the daewoo website where you will find the user manual.

    Also I spoke to daewoo and they said they make the Plasma's for Sky but not the DVD players.

    All Korean made plasma uses the same mediumly crappy panel, AFAIK, but hey if it's cheap enough... Just bear in mind it's not a cheap Panasonic.

    The Daewoo is also a Samsung. :)

    The DVD / Home Cinema is made by LG, same as Sony DAV systems, Samsung also make Sony badged VCR and VCR / DVD combos. :cool:

    It's not up to latest japanese made plasma, probably has some difficulties with pal progressive, lacks contrast, won't sync with a rgb-vga converter, etc. But, it's still 42" big, I'd say worth £1.5-£1.7k, bearing in mind you can get a PMA400 for £2.5k, and a PW6 for not a lot more if you search hard. Compared to these plasmas it'll look a bit seedy, but of course you'll only have the 1 in your lounge, so you won't have to compare it every day.
