I'm having Sky+ installed on Thursday 30 (Yes I used the 'I'll cancel unless you let me have it for £99 tactic') My question is 'Are there different types of Sky+ boxes' if so, what is the best type to have, the reason I ask is that when I first had Sky installed, they installed a Grundig black box even though I had all silver Sony TV & home cinema equipment where as a neighbour got the silver Sony 760U the same day..

There are only two current models, one from Pace and the other from Amstrad.
Both have some issues but you'll get people who have had no problems at all with either variant:)

Not seen the Amstrad yet - don't want to! :)

The Pace 'v2' is, on the whole, very reliable if it's installed well and kept cool.

That comment will no doubt be contradicted by countless posts in this thread. :D

Bear in mind that most people come to this forum to moan like hell.

Don't let them put you off Sky+. It is, without doubt, the most useful piece of AV kit you will ever own.

    Hope this helps.
