Sky Box Signal Strength

Sorry If this has been asked already but using the service menu

at what level should the signal strenth bar be , mine is half way , some times just below half way ?

Results will differ from installation to installation & digibox to digibox.
The signal QUALITY indication is actually more important/indicative.
Your sig strength readings sound fairly normal.

That reading is about the same as mine. I'm not an expert so I think it is about average strength. My signal often cuts out in heavy rain.
My brother has a much better reading on his system -well above 3/4 and very seldom has problems even in heavy rain.

I installed my dish myself though (Sky minidish) without the aid of a proper meter.

Depends on your dish size I had so many probs with a mini dish, even a zone 2 larger dish that I used an old 80CM dish with a universal LNB, set it up and it's full strength, you have to twist the LNB slighty in the bracket so it's at an angle and not horizontal, twist then look at your signal reading until it's high. It really does help in bad weather I haven't had any cut outs again. A 1 meter dish is superb!!!!!!! If you want any more info let me know.
