Could be a TV problem. Have you tried another TV? Try watching regular TV for an hour and then switch the Sky box on.

Could be a bad Scart connection as well. Any sound with the blue screen?

Same on my other TV ....

    was told to try ...

1.Put the box in standby and let the drive spin down then turn the power off at the mains, count to 10 then power back up, the box will think about a few things then you are back in business with no data loss (taking into account nothing is certain).

    or try or do both

2.The Planner Rebuild option will clean up the hard drive and it's indexing/cataloguing which also leaves valid recordings/series link data alone, it will remove failed and orphaned data.

3.A Full System Reset wipes the whole system and is perhaps the last resort.

Planner Rebuild and Full System Reset are in the installation menu.

    or force a software upgrade

Switch sky box off at mains, hold down backup button on front of box at same time as you switch box on. Keep backup pressed until a row of lights appear on front of box and then release finger. When download complete box will go into standby mode.

Did you try any/all of the suggestions and possibly try a different SCART lead and what was the outcome?

Was talking to 2 mates who were having different problems with their box freezing and their box just turning off as well and both also tried the Planner Rebuild in the installation menu. And unit worked perfect for the 3 of us.Use to have a problem where it took 5-10 mins for light to go green on power up , that as now fixed as well { happy days}.

1.Press services on your Sky remote control.
2.Highlight option 4 using the up/down arrows and press select.
3.Press (number) 0, then 1, then select to access the Installer Menu.
4.Highlight option 7 Planner Rebuild and press select .
5.You will see a message on your TV screen, “Housekeeping Please Wait.”
6.After approximately two minutes the Housekeeping message will disappear and your Sky box will carry out the procedure and switch itself off and back on.
7.Leave your Sky box on standby for one minute and then test :smashin:
