The Sky picture appears to gain a shadow, noticable with text eg when you push the select button on the sky remote, when it plays through my dvd player.

My player has an RGB pass through scart. Its the Philips 880.

I have the scart fron the sky box that is meant to go to the tv going in the av2 scart of the 880 and the scart tv out from the 880 going to the tv scart one which is rgb.

The sky box scart out to video is not connected to anything.

Have a got the connections the correct way?

    Thanks for any help.

    Allan.

Make sure that Sky is set to RGB in the picture settings.Take Sky out of the RF loop as you do not need it in the loop.Assuming your Scarts are fully wired, your set up is correct. The 2 things I mention, are all I can think of that may be wrong

    Thanks for your help.

The box is set on RGB. When I view it straight, ie without going through the 880 the pictures is A1.

I will take the RF loop out and report back.

    Cheers,

    Allan.

I just noticed that the picture quality on the screen is related to the recording quality selected on the 880.

Consequently, when I choose the 2 hour recording mode, the picture is great, with no shadow.

    Cheers.

You should be able to view while the 880 is in standby and your picture should be top notch. If you must view with it switched on,choose the 1 hour level-this is the best quality
