I've just had a communal Sky dish installed. Can I buy ANY Sky or Sky+ box from Ebay and get access to Freesat without a card. I was thinking about the Pace Sky+ Box.

Thanks for any help.

The £20 card gets you CH4, five, Sky3, Five US and Five Life, in addition to the Free To Air programmes which need no card.

You won't be able to record with a Sky Plus Digibox unless you pay the £10 a month subscription. Sky won't let you do this but there's allegedly a workaround. You subscribe to the minimum Sky+ package then phone a few days later and cancel the subscription but keep the £10 a month recording facility.

Thanks very much for the info.

Just make sure that if you are buying a NEW digibox on ebay, that the member is providing a 12 month warranty directly and not telling you the warranty is with Sky, or with the manufacturer. We get contacted all the time from unhappy ppl wanting to buy a new box because they have purchased off ebay only to find the digibox fail, and have no come back.
