Check this out. I just paid £250 for Sky+ including installation!

Currys is the place, they are doing some deal that if you upgrade to the top teir Sky World package you get the discount. And even better you can just revert back to your standard package after just 1 month saving well over £90.

    Not bad eh!

Well, for people who paid £350 (like me!), it is bad, yes.

What you are probably seeing is the £100 discount retailers get on the price of SKY+ so it look's like they are passing the full amount onto the public and then they take a cut of the new subscription.

I tried the old "I had to pay SKY £50 for installation" trick aswell (as the CURRYS price included installation) and they refunded me £50 aswell.

Down to £200 installed ..................so far!

DSG do not have pricing uniformity across the same stores. It is not unknown for stores in the same town selling the same products to be poles apart price wise.

Don't Curry's have a "We'll beat any other price" policy whereby if you find it cheaper elsewhere they'll give you back 10%? If so I'd be back there and ask for my 10% and sod any distance policy seeing as it's the same store.

A retail park in Llandudno had a Comet and a Currys next door to each other. Comet had big signs outside saying "We'll beat any Curry's price blah blah.." and Curry's had their 10% pricebeater sign. Gotta laugh - how low would they go? Go back and forth between the two stores demanding respective refunds due the other shop being cheaper:D

My deal was from Teesside Park at Stockton on Tees

However I.m now in dispute. Arranged instal, sky queried offer but proceeded, agreed to issue card.

Sky engineer arrived Sat am no card call to Sky said I haven't paid instal charge.

Instal went ahead, Sky wont offer card until £50 is paid, Curry's now say that the £50 must be paid offer doesn't apply to Sky+

Basically store manager calling me a liar as I queried this twice before paying. I've now paid Sky to get card despatched and am off to Curry's, trading standards etc. ##***!!

    Any other suggestions

    Regards

It appears that there are misleading strapline ads in store, I checked out Team Valley and their advert is different.

The offer I got was based on an ad that if you spent £99 or more an took a top sier subscription with sky the instal was free. Obviously the stb at £299 actually means that you get free instal. I personally think they've presented the offer wrongly but whatever I got my deal. So no I didn't have to buy a TV but that offer was available as well.

I (once I get my £50 refund from Currys) will have paid £250 (available on 9 months interest free with no deposit) for the stb to Currys and £50 to Sky for installation. total of £300.

    Good Luck
    :)

I think Currys cocked up when they sold me Sky+ for £250 all in. They did not convince me that they had sold many. My subscription has not even been upgraded to the top tier (which was part of the deal). Still, my cheeky attempt to convince them I had also paid Sky for installation worked and they refunded me £50. So £200 all in, well happy and maybe a bit lucky!
