Sky+ backup's

In theory any DVD recorder can be used for transferring recordings from your Sky+ hard disc (as long as you use the correct discs) - but in practice it would be far easier transferring to the hard disc of a DVD/HDD recorder, carrying out any editing required, then fast-dubbing to DVD.

As for which of the two you've linked to is the better machine, one would have guessed that it would be the Sony - & it certainly has excellent reviews on the Amazon website. However, in fact, both recorders seem to be currently unavailable new - & Amazon say that the Sony has been superceded by the RDRGX380B, but which is also out of stock on Amazon.
