I order SKY+ and then cancelled it after the SKY installer refused to install it.
Rang SKY two days later to confirm the credit card refund, everything was ok.
I got my cc bill today and there it was £350 to SKY and no refund, I now have a bill I can not afford to pay fully this month and all I got from SKY was they would refund my credit card next month and any problems were my own fault for using a credit card !

Silly question I know but if Sky refund you BEFORE the minimum payment date aren't you okay anyway? Wouldn't it be the same as you making a payment?

I see the error in my plan, it assumes full settlement of the card by you plus the £350 off Sky.

If you are already a Sky customer I would bitch and hopefully get a month or two free, this will also counter any interest on the card.

Mistakes can happen with billing this I understand. What really annoyed me was the brick wall I was hitting trying to get past the customer service guy who refused to consider any option other than a refund for the following month. Ok, that's how he was "trained" but surely there was someone in accounting who could take customer calls and handle a problem outside of the norm.

I've just got off the phone with my cc company and if the refund turns up on their computers within a week then they will alter my bill for me. Now that's the service I expected from SKY, listen to the problem and solve it to the customers satisfaction.

I would still bitch at Sky and get something out of them.

Good news from the credit card company but isn't it interesting that you got such excellent service from them but don't mention who they are?

C'mon Starburst, spill the beans, WHO GAVE YOU SUCH GOOD SERVICE?

I'm with Lloyds TSB and use their card, nothing special about it but I don't pay any fees and I always clear the bill every month so no interest charges and hopefully they will have their online facilities sorted soon.

I could have handled this months bill ok even with the unexpected cockup from SKY but I also had a £481 bill for some bodywork on my car which I hadn't budgeted for

I had exactly the same problem, Sky refused to install because I was decorating and I would have to disconnect the box oafter install. I argued with the sky engineer (and his boss) but he still walked away with the box in his hand. I was very ****ed off about this, I am now booked for another install, but have to wait six weeks.

I asked for a refund, sky refeunded me after holding the money for 14 days.

Why did they refuse to install your sky+?

The dish was too high, bit of a joke really since it was installed by SKY when I converted to digital.

Rang my CC company today and they confirmed the SKY refund had been processed so I only have to pay the bill minus the £350 :)
