    Hi
I've just connected my Sky+ box to my Yamaha rxv630rds via an optical cable. It all sounds fine to my uneducated ears but I was wondering if the amp is picking up the signal correctly? Shouldn't the amp change it's surround mode automatically when it 'hears' the Sky audio in Dolby? Much like when I put on a DVD the amp flips to 'Enhanced' mode? Or am I confusing Dolby with Surround sound?

    Any help/advice appreciated

    Cheers

If your amp display is the same as mine it would display the following

L R in the bottom right hand corner
prologic II in the top left
    PCM just underneath

When I switch to Movies 1 2 or 3 , when a DD movie is on .Amp autoswitches over
Think you may well be confusing DD and DPL

Ah, I see. So if I was watching a DD film on Sky Movies then the display should change to show the number of speakers 'working' once the signal has been processed by the amp?

    Is that correct?
