    Hi,

Can anyone inform me if SKY+ HAS to be connected to the Telephone line. I know that to take advantage of the special offer on SKY Digital it has to but knowing that we have to pay £300 for SKY+ I assumed it's not subsidised. Also do firmware updates occur via the phone line or via satellite?

    Thanks in advance

    Mel

    Updates are through your dish.
Telephone line does not need to be connected, nor do you need a Sky Subscription, you could pay just the Sky Plus+ £10 monthly and use with Free To Air card.
Sky will tell you it does need phone connected because they hope you will use interactive services.
