If you press 0 when watching any channels, the screen displays a speaker symbol and 3 spaces for channel number input.

What is the speaker symbol used for? subtitles?

I just get the standard 3 digit channel with the first digit completed as '0'. What software version are you on and which box?

    Yep.

My older PACE 2200 has had this update for a while, last weeks update of the SKY+ v1 included this option and other models will get it soon.
It will only be of any practical use when the radio channels become 4 digit numbers later this year.

I'd bet that the next upgrade will be on Tuesday. Historically, uprades are usually done on Tuesdays.
