SKY + and S-VHS

On my panasonic normal sky box I could select an s-vhs out through the scart from the picture settings menu.

However I dont seem to be able to do the same on my amstrad sky + box.

Is this right ?

Do I have to but an s-vhs to scart lead to get s-vhs from the amstrad.

I have tried the RGB but I was not impressed with the rgb input on my Sony 41" rear pro - never have been. It produces better pics with an s-vhs input.

Any help appreciated before I go and buy another lead.

I would seriously question the ability to select s-vhs via the scart on any SKY badged hardware, are you sure you are not being confused by the PAL (composite) option?

If you want to use s-video from the SKY+ then use the dedicated output, there is nothing in the menu to select, it is active all the time regardless of the scart setting (PAL/RGB).

I may be wrong but I was sure that on my old panasonic (Normal sky) box I could select between PAL/RGB/S-VHS but I may be wrong.

Looks like the amstrad sky + definately cant - only has PAL/RGB options.
