I have just ordered sky + and rather than going for the more expensive 160 felt the extra £200 would be better spent on a recordable DVD player. I like the look of the Panasonic E55 but I also want to use it to download videos of the kids in plays etc. On that basis i am unsure if the DVD/R will allow me to break the various "shows" into chapters or if i will just end up with a 4 hour long disc that i have to FF through. I suspect that there is more flexibility with the DVD RAM but i cant play these on my other players.

If the E55 isn't able to do this any other suggestions for this price range?

Also can you down load from sky+ to DVD Ram - cut adverts out etc and then copy to DVD/R?

    Many thanks
