Does the optical out only work on the movie channels for 5.1 signal? Or does it work all the time?

Only as as since looking at having Sky next year and using a Projector would need to find a way to pull the audio to my amp

    Cheers

It works all the time on all channels, but it only outputs 5.1 on some movies on some movie channels, I think it says 'DD' on the EPG. Rest of the time it's just pro logic or less, whatever is broadcast.

    Nikumba,

screemer is right, it only works for 5.1 on Sky movies 1,2 and 3 (and I think some very limited stuff on Disney) but if your question is does it work for all other audio then the answer is yes.

The signal for all other channels will at best be only be in two channel although this could be in dolby pro logic form.

Some channels will actually be in mono but in all cases you are getting a digital signal straight to your amp.

    Hope this helps
