Hello, Was wondering if anyone could help me. I tried in the Sky + Forum but to no avail.

I have Sky +, I also have a Sony Vaio VGC-V3M, which looks like this:

    And has this spec
    http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Sony_...rthreading_512MB_250GB_DVD_Dual_Layer_XP_Home

I was wondering what the best way to Connect this up to my Sky +, I have bought a 20M S-Video cable to run between my office and my lounge. But now i've found out that S-Video doesn't carry audio, just Video.

As I've also got Surround sound. The Audio out on the Sky box is already connected to something. What would be the best way to get the 2 hooked up?

    Thanks in advance.

My guess is that whilst people may know about sky+ they are probably not familiar with the Sony.

What capture card is in the Sony and what inputs does it support?

It looks like you have the video side of things covered so you will have to make do with a stereo phono lead to supply the sound into your line input. You won't lose out much using the analogue leads as you will still capture any surround information within the stereo signal.

Do you know if the Optical cable coming out of the SKY + box carries Video as well as Audio?

No fibre cable carries video that I know of. The best you can get to input is probably s-video.
