Got sky+ istalled down stairs in the front room, can I use my old sky digital dox upstairs from the sky+ dish? I dont want to pay sky any more money for the privilege of running an extra box.

Any help would be much appreciated.

As long as there is a spare output on the Quad LNB you can cable up another digibox.
However if you do not want to pay SKY anymore money then you can only use it as a FTA receiver since you will need a smartcard and the FTV cards are no longer on sale.

The FTV cards were £23.50 but are no longer officially on sale, you might find a few on various online auction sites being sold for a very healthy premium.
You can of course subscribe to SKY if you live in the UK or ROI.
