I am currently considering upgrading my subscription to Sky + to enable me to receive Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The satellite dish being used is a communal dish shared by several apartments, and so the usual upgrade of the LNB required to gain the full benefits of Sky + will not be possible.

Does anyone know if the upgrade to the LNB is required to allow the Digibox to receive Dolby Digital 5.1?

    Many thanks

A SKY+ unit will allow you to access DD5.1 via the optical link without the £10 subscription or a second LNB input.
Be advised thay SKY+ has no autoview feature and has different remote codes compared to a standard digibox so if you have a sat control VCR it won't work(as I found out).

Thank very much. Shame about Sky + not having autoview but good news that I can get Dolby Digital without the £10 extra subscription.
