SKY + and 1 lnb

    hi all just got a sky + box but only have 1 lnb will it still function ok i know it will work like a vcr ie only record the channel im watching . Or do i need to phone sky too enable this feature.

    You will need to pay SKY for the recording, no question, £10 I think. You will also need a dual lnb to give two feeds to record a channel and watch another....

    I thought sky + was free if ypu subscribed too all the channels ?

    you've got to ring sky in order to pair the card with your box and enable the recording function which will cost a tenner unless you subscribe to the whole package as you say.....
    well ,on the single lnb front...i had to use one lnb whilst waiting for a quad and whilst the recording worked (obviously only recording the channel that is on) it was'nt very reliable plus if you switched the box off onto standby it would'nt record.......generally i just got a lot of failures.
    came home one day to find a sky van parked outside...had a word when the guy turned up....quick chat and 30 quid in his back pocket and he fitted a new dish, a new quad and sorted the latest update :thumbsup:
