I've had my sky+ for quite a while now and can't live without it !

Just one thing, on 5.1 broadcasts the sound level is around half that of a normal broadcast. Output is via a sony amp. Has anyone had this problem, or is it just me ??

    Any help would be appreicated

Seriously considering getting Sky+ for 5.1 broadcasts as well as recording abilities. Is lack of sound level a problem as far as you're concerned? I'll be using a Sony DAVS 500 system which presently plays TV or CD's comfortably at volume 15 out of 40. DVD's need to be at around 27/40.

Well, I use a separate Sony amp, and the difference between TV, DVD and 5.1 volumes required is quite big. There is still alot in reserve though, and although this is more powerful than your DAVS 500 system, I would of thought you would be OK for a normal living room.

I don't quite know why the 5.1 sound should be so low, but I'm sure there is a good reason !? Anyone have any ideas, or have sky forgotten to turn the volume knob up ??
