Anyone aware of a problem with these
A friend of mine upgraded from Sky plus to one and got problems with some channels and with very poor picture quality, they changed the box but he still had the same problems.
Someone told him that there is a software problem with some of these.
He's returned the second box now as the sky "engineers" could not sort it out

Amstrads have a vertial ghost banding issue (see other threads!). There is some debate if this going to be fixed on a software release - some people (sky and others) say yes, others no (sky and others). Seemingly the only fix for this is a pace box, however not sure if pace do sky+ 160

FaxFan2002 - he's talking about the Sky+ 160 box (which is made by Thomson), not the Amstrad version of the standard Sky+ box.

Just to confirm cerebros comments - they were thompsons.
They also gave out a scratchy noise as if something internally was catching as it turned (same with both machines)

Sent my thompson 160 box back because of the sound drop out on sky movies 1,2&3.

Although I see where you're coming from maybe a bit of a generalisation.
