I see this is now listed on the Sky+ website - as speculated it is indeed priced at £399  I still can't quite believe this - an extra £250 for a component that, even going for an expensive brand/higher capacity, would cost around £100. And there doesn't seem to have any other benefit to upgrading unless I am missing something (disabled USB sockets do not count!)? Perhaps the MPEG decoder has been improved?

I normally buy new items of kit like this as soon as Sky releases them. But not this time - there has to be some degree of value for money. :thumbsdow It will be interesting to see how many people actually upgrade at this price.

The larger hard-drive should be standard in sky+ boxes - it shouldn't be sold as a "luxury" or as a top-of-the-range. £400 is a bit extreme.

I assume this has been covered before, but for me the real issue is if there will be a new Software Update that will allow exisitng Sky+ users to upgrade their HDs without the 17' problem...
