I really miss Battlestar Galactica and I miss being able to get a fix of the Simpsons whenever I fancy it, but I don't miss Lost and 24 at all. On the whole I'd rather have Sky One than Virgin Central.

For anyone on the XL package Virgin Central is nothing, we already have access to all the content via TV Choice On Demand.

My red button never works for Virgin Central, I always have to go through the On Demand menus.

To be honest, losing Sky One has made me realise how little I watch of anything outside of freeview. Also the on demand section has done little to excite me with lack of quality in picture and unreliability of the catch up tv section. I still have to pull the power at least once a week to reboot my STB as well and it all seems quite amateur since the switchover. It's only having to get an aerial installed that has put me off cancelling.

I really, really miss Battlestar Galactica. I will buy the dvds anyway, when they come out, I already have the 1st and 2nd Series. Other than that, I am not that bothered about Sky One.

Not that I'd do this myself of course:rolleyes: but you can download almost all of the popular episodes using torrents within 24hrs of them being shown (in the UK or US).

Download a bit torrent client, visit a torrent site like mininova.org for the list of the available TV programmes, music and other less than legal stuff.

A website that explains this more is http://www.slyck.com/

I'd imagine that by downloading all such programmes this way that you would not miss Sky One :D

I can almost count the number of decent worth watching progs from Sky 1 on one hand

How can anyone miss a channel where half its daily content is made up of cartoons. The other 40% is repeats and that leaves 10% of decent stuff.

I was peed off about losing Lost mid series as that was the only prog I watched on Sky. Like everyone else I download it off the net so up yours Sky.

I now hope SKY 1/2/3 never come back.

what do you mean you lost sky sports? that and the movie channels are still avaliable its only sky one two and three (three of which never managed to air in my area) the news and travel channels

if you lost sky sports i would ring virgin straight away!

sky one is fairly weak indeed lost and bsg and the others i was never really into although sometimes it would be nice to see a episode of simpsons or malcom in the middle :) :)

i assume this website shall we say you 'dont' use has programmes on simpsons in HD also yes?

sky sports news was lost thats what i meant.

Dont know why people say sky one is weak. Yes i agree there are a lot of useless programmes but compare it to ITV. How many programmes a week do you watch on it? or bbc1 for that matter.

The fact is none of the channels are going to provide 24 hours of wonderful programmes but why should we have to loose one?

Given the choice id much rather have all the sky channels back. Having said that getting £12 a month off my bill has made up for the loss.

Yes, it's a shame we can't opt out of paying the license fee. BBC and ITV are wall to wall soap and reality tv zones. You should be able to direct your license fee to something you want to watch.

    i agree!!

i honestly believe it should be tv license or cable or satelitte subscription as much as i hate adverts id rather the bbc had adverts on then making everyone pay tv license.

about the 12pound off how did you get the money off??

phone up speak to dissconnections. Girl there was actually very helpful when i called. SAid they had been told to expect people calling to complain. ~They had a number of packages they can offer. I was on the phone for nearly 50 mins in the end (35 wait at the start!)
