Right as many of you have heard, the sixaxis might soon be changed to a rumble pad also. The question i ask is wouldnt that make the battery on the remote flat very soon? Just asking because im sure sony wouldnt start using cables again (i hope)

If it halves the battery life it would still mean only charging it once a week for me,if that.
Maybe the rumble version will get a higher capacity battery?

I use rechargable AA's in my 360 pads, dont have to swap them very often and there not 'big' rechargables either (1800/200mah).

Any chance of a complete pad re-design to make it more ergonomic? I used to be a big fan of the PS2 controller until I got my 360... Seriously, without starting a console war in this thread, the design of the 360 controller is so much nicer than what I was used to. Can't help but feel that Sony needs to do someting about that.

sony don't need to change the design at all. if they do i'd keep my original sixaxis as it's the only controller i've ever got on with, and i'm used to it now

It all comes down to personal preference. Personally I can't stand the Xbox and Xbox 360 pads and think they are too bulky and cumbrersome to use with the left analogue stick in the wrong place. I much prefer the PS2 and PS3 pads although the PS3 ones are a bit too light and cheap feeling for my liking. It wouldn't make snese to redesign a pad that has already been included with several million consoles already. Not unless Sony offer to replace all those plus any extra pads people have bought which I very much doubt they would do.

i think the opposite, i'm used to the ps3 sixaxis now and when i use my old dualshock2 on my pc, it feels heavy and the rumble annoys me, I especially can't get used to the fact there's a wire coming out the back and it's attached to something :rotfl:

    Will I'm a PS3 only owner now & prefer the 360 layout & button/trigger "feel".

My ideal pad would be like a 360 one in black, half-way between the weight of the PS3/360 pad with sixaxis & dual shock taking replaceable 2 AAA rechargeables :smashin:

When I first got my 360, I thought the ergonomics of the pads were better than the Dual Shock. But after a year of using both, I've actually found the opposite, the Playstation controllers are more comfortable for prolonged use.
