Well, I cheated - someone else on another forum mentioned it!

If you buy all 4, then you'd get £10 off the order ... which is nice :)

--- All seasons appear to be non-anormorphic 4:3. Is this poor? ---

    True for seasons 1 & 2 unfortunately!!
Quite suprising for a quality HBO product that wasn't broadcast that way

When I search for Six Feet Under it comes up with two versions for each season, with different release dates. I assume the newer ones are re-released to coincide with the new season, but are there any differences between the two? Have they changed the packaging again?

This would be interesting to know as well - maybe this will be a studio offer too.

I doubt it... I was only looking at season 4, but noted that it was the same cat no on both release dates; Amazon et al just show the original release date on all SFUs

also noticed different labels... WHV (= Warner Home Video) for the initial release, and HMV for the "re-issue" - HMV exclusive packaging perhaps??? (I opted for the WHV)

I was under the impression that the first two seasons were filmed with 4:3 in mind. Certainly when they were aired in the UK they were 4:3. I assume this was the same for the US otherwise they would have released it ws on dvd.

Yes season 5 is the final season.

Okay, as promised, reply from HMV regarding the 'duplicate titles':

    --------------------------------------

    Thank you for your email.

I am very sorry for the confusion regarding this series, you are perfectly correct, we are running two versions of each on our site at present.

This is due to a technical problem.

I have contacted our web team and the details should be amended within the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, if you should wish to order the items it will be fine if you select the ones that have 'Your saving' next to them, when you add the item/s to basket please check that the price is £17.99 or £34.99 if it is for the Season 5 , if it is £17.99 or £34.99 in basket then that is the price you will pay for the items.

I do apologise for the confusion and inconvenience caused.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require further assistance.

    Kind regards

    Anna Grazier

Yup! just done that now - for £99. Makes sence as I need all seasons and it makes season 5 cheaper! Especially cheaper with 5% cashback from a referral site (which I may not be allowed to mention here). Sod's law, in a few weeks the boxset will be cheaper somewhere else! :)

I ordered that with my £20 e-voucher for £89.99, when they first put it on the site it was £109.99.

    £99 is still good.

Ah well, like I said - prices will always fluctuate - shame though. I guess it is not cheaper elsewhere (for the boxset) .. ?

HMV is the cheapest at the moment with the £20 off, Amazon are the cheapest (pre-voucher HMV) @ £111.99. play £127.99

Still a very good deal at HMV and the box design is brilliant.
