A friend of mine met Sir Christopher at a book launch and told him he was a huge fan of his and loved his horror films. To which Lee immediately replied "I never made horror films, they were 'cinema fantastique'!"

His talent was endless & Sir Christopher Lee you are Irreplaceable. You will be sadly missed. From my early childhood to this very day, this amazing actor has had a huge impact on my TV & Movie watching. Such a gentle soul too.
Christopher & Peter Cushing going at it as Dracula & Van Helsing = Priceless.
He also absolutely shined as Saruman in LOTR & The Hobbit.

      R.I.P Sir Christopher Lee.

He was my bogeyman when I was young and scared me sh*t less in the Hammer films back then. His talent was obviously appreciated and why he was so welcome in LOTR and the Star Wars prequels although I expect he wanted Gandalf as his character.
Going to have to listen to his albums now as that part of his life ( just become aware of ) now fascinates me.

Having grown up watching Hammer films in the 70's and 80's I was, at first scared by his portrayal as Dracula but later I grew to appreciate his acting skills and the gravitas he could bring to his rolls.
The Wicker man is one of my all time favourite films and his portrayal of Lord Summerisle still creeps me out.
The man may be gone but his legacy will live on in his work.

A scary childhood hero of mine too. Friday night, up late, Hammer House of Horror, scared to go to bed afterwards.

Trying really hard to remember any one of the individual actors/stars of the new generation of horror movies such as Saw, Insidious, Paranormal Activity etc, etc.........?

      Nope, can't remember any.
