    Hobbes,

Hopefully, if things go according to plan, and if sales justify release of further sets, then Fox will release one half of a season, every 4-6 months.

As for the animation in Season 1, being awful (your words!), bear in mind that the show is now 13-14 years old, so the style will look dated! Also, animation wasn't as advanced then as it was now, and it was almost all hand-drawn and painted, by large groups of people, rather than computers, like it's possible to do now.

    Hobbes,

    1) Your end-quote is from "Blade Runner". It's Chief Bryant that says it, isn't it?!

    2) There is absolutely no chance that animation cells of the Simpsons, would be included free with anything! Do you know how much they would actually sell for?! At the least, you'd be talking well over £1000, and going upto about £7500! These are prized collector's items, from the actual making of the show, and because animation is a laborious process, it is unlikely that Fox/Matt Groening would sell them anyway, as they can be reused in future episodes!

    3) There's been 269 episodes, upto and including episode 21, of Season 12.

Yep, your right about the quote.

Replica cells could be a possibility.

    269? Jesus.

You seem pretty clued up on The Simpsons, what do you think of Futurama? Some people hate it but i think its just as good, the jokes are a lot subtler and so that could be why some people dont like it, because they don't get them.

Hope that comes to dvd in the not-too-distant future.

    True.

Hey, do you reckon they might release some limited edition packs later in the year(s) which could include all sorts of extras. Like special animation cells from that season, that would be pretty good.

Also, on a slightly different note, does anyone know how many episodes there have been in total, of the simpsons.

I must admit its taken them a while to put season 1 on DVD. Although the extras help justify it.
