Anyone up for this game ... it's due for release next month and seems to be coming on with very little fanfare, which I find surprising given the huge success of the brilliant Sims 2.

Does anyone know if my new laptop will run this game OK?

I've read about a lot of people moaning about the possible DRM that EA are going to be using, I've heard a 3 install limit being mentioned a lot.

I dont want to put a dampener on things, but I could'nt get Sims 2 to work on 2 laptops, bith with ATI mobility chipsets. They were just incompatible. It even said on the box that there may be problems.

You can only hope they have ironed this problem out.

Your sister will have plenty of time to save up for an even better laptop if she already was saving up for the feb release date of the sims 3

    Johnny,

not rubbish. I would never post something I think is not true. I had major problems with 2 laptops with ATI chipsets and the box even says that the mobility chips are not supported.

It may work for you, but may not for others. Thats no reason to denounce someones opinion so harshly.

Amazon.com user reviews are mostly negative:thumbsdow Looks like another highly anticipated game turned out to be a dissapointment.

In all fairness, most of the negative reviews are from people that experienced a crash in the game or whos PC aren't up to the task of running it.

I never tend to look at amazon reviews for anything because they are mostly scewed one way or the other. You get people that rate something god-awful 5 stars in an attempt to overcome buyers remorse and other people will give an excellent product 1 star because they didn't like the colour of the box it came in or similar.
