Can anyone confirm if either sky or channel 4 plan to show the simpsons episode when the family go to new york?

Is this the old episode where

    a) Homer goes to New York to pick up his clamped car outside the World Trade Centre and runs to the top to take a wizz or

    b) a newer episode which they may be afraid to show?

it must be the one where homer goes to pick the car up after barney drove it there, I know sky are no longer showing that episode, which is a shame as its one of the funniest ones. Not sure what series its from, maybe have to wait till it comes out on DVD.

I've seen that episode at least 3 times since 11/9. Nothing will ever stop them from showing repeats. Australian free to air tv is about 3 or 4 seasons ahead on the "new" episodes and that is saying something. I imagine a big room where the head of bbc, now channel 4, sits with hundreds of tapes each stickered "new simpons" and he swims in them all like scrooge mcduck and hugs them and says things like "mine, all mine".

Yes, its the episode when barney borrows homers car and leaves it parked between the world trade centre buildings - I've not seen this in 3 years at least and hope this is'nt going to last indefinitely as I rate this as one of my favourite episodes.

the episode is homer vs the city of new york. it is season 9. dont think there are any plans to show it. a cut version with no mention of trade center was shown abroad somewhere.
if any one has it on tape or disc even recorded i would love to speak to you

Absolutely rediculous idea to censor it.

If anyone was watching the simpsons last night (when lisa thinks she's gradually 'dumbening' due to the simpsons gene'), theres a sequence when she walks downstairs into the living room to find homer and bart watching a program called 'when buildings collapse' followed by several clips of buildings doing their thing - after 9/11, the collapsing buildings sequence was cut completely but anyone watching it last night would have found that the episode now plays unedited - hopefully, this may well mean that at some stage in the future, homer vs the city of new york may be shown unedited ( I hope!)

I thought the episode (although having not had the pleasure to have seen it yet) would be more likely to pay homage to the Twin Towers and the victims than offend anyone. It is ridiculous IMHO.

It seems stupid to censor an episode of the Simpsons when the pilot episode of The Lone Gunmen involved a government plot to fly a plane into the World Trade Centre and that has been released uncut on DVD.

I say again that I have seen this episode unedited on free to air Australian and British TV (both bbc and channel 4) so you have nothing to worry about unless you can only get sky.

I don't think simpsons has been on recently, but I know for sure that I have seen it many times here as I moved to the UK a few years back and the sept 11 crash happened before I moved here, so I know without a doubt that it has been shown on both bbc and then channel 4 (when they play at least 1 episode a day in no real order they do tend to repeat a bit).

Apparently us viewers like to see the same episodes over and over again. I wish they would show a wider spread of episodes over the seasons and not repeat the boring one's that are all the same.
