I'm looking for a simple remote control to buy. I'd like the following features:

    - the on/off button turns everything off or on (ie VCR, DVD, amp, NTL box)
    - the volume button always increases the volume of the amp, never the TV or NTL box
    - it should have press buttons for numbers 0-9, and the volume control

can anyone advise me on what's available?

    Thanks
    Taimur

Well, most one for all remotes in the argos catlogue do support macros which should do what you want i.e, turn everything off, turn on the tv and turn on the dvd player.

If money isn't a problem, go for something a bit special like the Philips pronto, there was a rumor going round a little while ago about Richer sounds offering them for £100 each.

thanks for the reply. I went out and bought a Sony RM VL900 since I have a Sony TV and VCR, and wanted buttons to press.
