this is a dead simple question and i apoligise! if im watching a dvd. what "program" do i set on my amp ie, if the dvd has dolby digital on the back, do i select dolby digital II?? and if its got "DTS" on the cover of the dvd,do i use that?? what im basically asking is, if the dvd is encoded "dolby digital" is it best to listen in Dts neo6??? thanks dave
Dave i would not worry about the selection for DD 5.1 or DTS 5.1 it will automatically select this Bitstream in the amp, it will only matter when you are listening to 2 Channel audio and then it is up to you what you prefer Dolby Prologic II or DTS neo:6 John
Hi Dave, I've just got my 750 set up...this might not apply but my 750 won't let me select 2-channel decoders when a DTS or Dolby digital DVD is in the player. The only time I could do this is when I had my DVD player outputting PCM instead of bitstream audio. The amp should automaically switch decoders (Dolby/DTS) when you select the audio channel you want on the DVD. If it's letting you choose 2-channel decoders for 5.1 DVDs you might not be getting the full 5.1 sound for DVDs. For stereo CDs played in the DVD player you can choose Prologic II or DTS:Neo but for movies it should be using the Dolby Digital or DTS decoders.
