Hey all. A just need a simple question if I may

I have a yamaha 765 av recever , qa 1010i surounds and a qa 1000ci front.
What speaker cable should I buy?
I do not want the cheapest of the cheap as a lot of money has been spent on the equipment but on the other hand I don't want to pay over the odds on cable that's not needed.
So , what would you recomend for the equipment mentioned? + do I need anything else to hook it all up apart from just cable?
BTW can you all tell I'm a noob lol

thanks all :smashin:

Ha, two hopes.

I say you only need cable of sufficient thickness.

But some would disagree.

I find this perfectly adequate;

Cambridge Audio SYMPHONY 200 | Per Metre | Richer Sounds

do I need anything else to hook it all up apart from just cable?

What, like banana plugs?

No, unless you're plugging/unplugging all the time imo.

As for any other cables, it depends what you're connecting to the amp.

Thanks for your fast answer.
Obviousily I will be connecting a sub also to my setup however I just wanted an answer to speaker cable for the time being
while we are on the subject tho I will be buying a bk Gemini 11 sub, so what cable would you recomend for that??
I am a noob to home audio , but do not want to buy the worst possible cable/equipment , you pay for what you get and I want a very nice sounding setup and I do know cable does matter
thanks for your help , I will most prob buy that cable u mentioned

That's mostly true, but you can easily spend a lot more than you need too.
Forget this 5 or 10% of budget thing that you often see, as imo it's total rubbish.

Sub cables?

I've used a few cheapies off EBay, with no problems whatsoever.

If you're buying a new Gemini, it will come with a cable.
That will be perfectly good :smashin:

And it doesn't matter much anyway, as long as it has adequate screening.
You don't hear tone with sub-bass frequencies, the way you do with speakers.
