I'm looking at getting a DVD recorder. All I want is to be able to record stuff to DVD. The simplest of edit functions is sufficient - I just want to be able to pause during recording to cut out adverts. Can I do that while recording using the Panasonic EBS50 recording to a DVD -R, or would I have to record to a DVD-RAM?

Apologies for cross-posting this into the Players forum, I didn't notice I was in the wrong place.

Yes - you can just pause record like you would on a VCR. That is the extent of the editting abilities though other than the ability to name a title/disk and delete a whole title (although you don't get the disk space back).
