I won a pair of Bose 251 outdoor speakers and I'm looking to hang them on an eve of my roof above my patio. I am going to experiment with driving them with an Echo Dot. The Echo uses a 3.5MM output cable to hook up to external speakers. What would be an adequate amp to drive the pair of speakers.

    Ideally:
    1. Not more than $150
    2. Doesn't suck juice while I am not using the speakers which would be 99% of the time.
    3. Could handle the heat in the summer and cold in the winter being stored inside the soffit of the roof.

Is this just a dumb idea and should I sell the 251's for a better solution? They'd sell for $300+ on ebay.
